Puppet Config for a Postfix/Dovecot Mail Server
Let me first give give colossal credit to the deservedly famous ISPmail tutorial. If you are installing
on a somewhat older server, pre-Dovecot 2.x, and you want to understand every step of the process,
by all means use the tutorial to build your server. My own config that I am describing here is originally
based on .
The advantages of my version over :
- No MySQL dependency.
- Works with Dovecot 2.x ( has to yet been ported to same.)
- The puppet config allows the addition / editing of users with a text edit of one file.
- Puppet makes deploying the same configuration and user base to multiple servers trivial.
